As we get closer to spring and summer heat most people forget about their fireplaces and other sources of heat and tend to focus on their air conditioners. This makes sense from a practical standpoint, but don’t forget to shop for great bargains on winter items during the off season months. Especially during a recession, combined with the off season, you can often score some incredible deals on a variety of fireplace related items such as gas fireplaces. Maybe you just need parts for your current unit or you want to completely change out to something new. Either way, check out the bargains and look to save at least 20%, often as much as 50% and more.
Some people have real working fireplaces and would like to convert them to just electric or gas inserts. It makes sense to make this conversion in the spring and summer because it’s warmer and any outside work you may have to do on the change over will be much more comfortable.
If you do have a real wood fireplace and want to keep it that way, pay some attention to your homemade firewood rack. You don’t want to run into a problem of rotting, unstableness or poor cover for next year’s supply of wood. Make sure everying is in top shape and take care of any problems now while the weather is nice.
