A quality control plan consists of all the techniques that are employed to make sure that deliverables are consistent and actually meet the specification of the customers.
In order to achieve quality it is important that the quality control plan meets the project demand and the specifications of the client.
Example of a generic quality control plan process adapted for an IT firm:
Feasibility study
At the stage of preliminary studies quality control will be set around the statement of the objectives of the project and also concern an assessment of the customer expectations. Quality control will also ensure that all solutions provided are coherent at any state whether it is the preliminary state or at the definition of the expectations.
Implementation phase
At the implementation stage the quality control plan will be concerned about the verification of the methodology used to make sure that it is done according to the specifications.
Test phases
The test phase will be all able verifying whether the deliverables, in this case, applications matches the requirements of the customers.
Control aspect
Make sure that adequate control system is set up to make sure that everything falls in place. It is however important that the test is really adapted to the project.
Reproduction of test sample
Some random test might need to be carried out by some independent person to limit errors.
Control of remedial efforts
The anomalies detected during the test phases should give rise to a correction in terms of configuration and development. There should also be some new tests that take place to make sure that the corrections actually work.
