Who is David Yurman? David started his career as a sculptor in the 1960s. To educate himslef in the field of jewelry design, David Yurman became an apprentice with the celebrated jeweler Cartier. Prior to this apprenticeship, as with other respected desingers of our time, David Yurman had to face rejection. He was turned down by Tiffany & Co., another jewelry design company. The entrepreneurial vision and unyielding pursuit towards success drove David Yurman and he did not take this rejection lightly. In fact, he considers this as just what he needed to ignite the flame to fuel up his need to succeed. By 1979, the sculptor-turned-jeweler launched David Yurman, Inc. to carry his exclusive David Yurman Jewelry Collection and as with any bold and great artists, David Yurman decided to go against the grain. Amidst the literal sea of gold, David Yurman launched the sterling silver, twisted cable-inspired necklace pieces. And, the rest, as what they say, is history.
